Absolute Zero and Chris Cutler to perform at Sub Tropics festival

Absolute Zero is scheduled to play the Sub Tropics festival (www.subtropics.org) in Miami, Florida on February 28, and on March 1 with former Henry Cow/Cassiber/Art Bears/Pere Ubu drummer Chris Cutler.

Cutler's solo performances feature his electrified kit, of which there is only one in existence. "Think of an electric guitar," he says, "then think of Fred Frith or Keith Rowe; I try to do the same thing with electrified drums, using piezos, radio mikes and a lot of pedals and peculiar objects."

The Sub Tropics festival has featured such avant-garde luminaries as Derek Bailey, Alvin Lucier, Gene Tierney, Morton Sobotnick, Meridth Monk and others.

Absolute Zero and Cutler are also considering plans for a small tour of the east coast in early March. Please Email Scott Hamrick if you would like more information or if you can help book a show in your town.
